HOW TO KEEP YOUR KNOWLEDGE UP ?
I often get asked how I keep up my knowledge in this fast-changing digital landscape. Like any good marketer, you’ll find out very quickly that you need to be constantly learning if you want to stay in tune in the digital world. My secret is pretty simple : First, I work with different type of clients and industries which makes it mandatory for me to be unbeatable in several fields, but some of them I never studied at school, so I have to learn everyday to be able to know what I’m talking about.
EASY LEARNING WITH INTERNET : Become the best marketer around!
The good thing about this is that Learning never was easier than today. Almost anything you want to learn about is online and the best way to enlarge your knowledge about any subject is to consume related content. And that’s what I do. I consume a LOT of content. Audio podcasts, youtube videos, blogs, audiobooks…
MANAGE YOUR TIME LIKE A BOSS
Every time I can, I watch or listen to a debate, a conference etc. For example, living in L.A now, I face a lot of traffic on a daily basis and sometimes I spend up to three hours in my car, just to go meet a client 50 miles away. That is a perfect opportunity for me to listen to the 22 immutable laws of marketing AND the 22 immutable laws of branding to grow my knowledge about branding and marketing. As a result I listened to two full books in 3 hours. And I can proudly answer to the “what did you read today” question. (I will share in a future article a list of my favorites books to read to become a better salesperson and marketer).
But today I want to talk about TED (which stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design) and its famous TED Talks. Every morning when I wake up I try to watch a talk while having breakfast, I think that it’s a fantastic way to get inspired before starting the day and I really feel that it creates the right mindset for success.
“I’m hungry for knowledge. The whole thing is to learn every day, to get brighter and brighter. That’s what this world is about. You look at someone like Gandhi, and he glowed. Martin Luther King glowed. Muhammad Ali glows. I think that’s from being bright all the time, and trying to be brighter.” JAY-Z
